The 9th OSES Annual Symposium takes place July 16 - July 18, Summer 2025. This year's home is spectacular Bari, Italy, the jewel of Italy's Southern Coastal Region. This event brings together researchers, industry players and policy makers dedicated to driving the development and growth of offshore renewables and energy storage. This event follows a number of successful events held in Windsor, Canada; Edinburgh, Scotland; Valetta, Malta; Cape Cod, USA; Ningbo, China; Brest, France, and St. Julian's, Malta, and New Bedford, USA.

MEET YOUR OSES2025 CONFERENCE CHAIR
Sergio Camporeale
Dr. Sergio Mario Camporeale is a Full Professor of Fluid Machinery (ING-IND/08) at the Department of Mechanics, Mathematics, and Management at Politecnico di Bari, Italy. He has been serving in this role since December 1, 2017.
Professor Camporeale coordinates the Master of Science program in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Bari. His research interests include gas turbines, combustion, wave energy, and wind turbines. His work has garnered significant recognition, with over 4,800 citations.
In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Professor Camporeale has contributed to the academic community through various publications and collaborations. He is actively involved in advancing the field of mechanical engineering, particularly in areas related to energy and fluid mechanics.

OSES2025 CELEBRATED KEYNOTES AND FEATURED SPEAKERS

Franc Mouwen
Franc Mouwen serves as the European Innovation Council (EIC) Programme Manager for architecture, engineering, and construction technologies. In this role, he is dedicated to leveraging technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship to transform building design and construction practices, aiming to mitigate climate change impacts. Mr. Mouwen holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from TU Delft. His professional expertise encompasses technology scouting and venture building, particularly focused on the future of construction. As an EIC Programme Manager, he is responsible for developing visions for technological and innovation breakthroughs, actively managing portfolios of EIC-funded projects, and bringing together stakeholders to realize these visions. Through his efforts, Franc is at the forefront of driving sustainable advancements in the construction industry, contributing to the European Union's broader goals of innovation and environmental stewardship.
Marc Cahay

Marc Cahay is a research and development manager at Technip Energies in Paris in charge of offshore activities. He is Principal Expert in the Technip Energies internal expert network responsible for defining and implementing R&D programs focused on floating LNG (FLNG) and floating renewables (mainly solar and wind). Mr. Cahay graduated in Civil Engineering in 1990 from the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics (E.S.T.P.) in Paris, France. With almost 35 years of experience in fixed and floating platform EPC projects, he was involved in and initiated several EU collaborative development projects on marine renewable energies. He is a member of the Board of Directors of SPE France since 2013. With a multidisciplinary minded, he has participated in several patent applications and regularly promotes the technology development he is involved in with publications and lectures in international conferences (ATC, IOWTC, LNG17, MCEDD, OTC, OMAE, OSES …). He has been part of the scientific committee, topic organizer and session chair for OMAE and IOWTC conferences. Marc is the Technical Program Chair of the IOWTC 2025 conference. Mr Cahay Regional Projects, Facilities and Construction Award Recipients in 2018 and International Projects, Facilities and Construction Award Recipients in 2024.

Antonio Marco Pantaleo
Antonio Marco Pantaleo is a seasoned expert in renewable and clean energy technologies, with over 20 years of experience leading multidisciplinary research projects. His work spans solar, wind, biomass, and hybrid energy systems, as well as energy integration, biosystems engineering, and optimizing energy use in agricultural engineering and food processing. Since October 2020, Antonio has served as a Programme Manager for the European Innovation Council (EIC), where he plays a pivotal role in fostering innovation and supporting groundbreaking research and development in clean energy and sustainable technologies. As one of only four current EIC Programme Managers, he is dedicated to identifying and mentoring high-potential projects, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to make transformative impacts. A thought leader in his field, Antonio is driven by a mission to accelerate the transition to cleaner energy systems, promote sustainable practices, and contribute to a more resilient and equitable future.
